Cleveland Escorts: Ohio police, firefighters decry bargaining limits

Posted in Cleveland escorts by clevelandhobbyist on the March 31, 2011

Mike Norman, secretary for Cleveland’s local firefighters union, said that’s a cold comfort compared with what he called an “all-out assault” on the union.
“Changes to the game supersede the topics that we’re allowed to discuss,” he said. “This isn’t something that needed to be tweaked a little bit.”
As Cleveland’s population has declined in the past decade, so have its ranks of police officers. Two rounds of layoffs have left the police force more than 300 officers smaller since 2004.
The street crimes unit, which used to investigate prostitution and gambling, is no more. The auto theft unit was also disbanded. And a city that stretches 22 miles along Lake Erie no longer has a single police boat to patrol its own waters; that job is now left to the Coast Guard, Loomis said.

Failed Ohio candidate due in court on sex counts
Associated Press – March 29, 2011 4:15 AM ET
CLEVELAND (AP) – A Republican who unsuccessfully ran for Congress last year must face a judge in Cleveland on sex-related criminal charges.
Sixty-8-year-old Thomas Ganley of Brecksville faces arraignment Tuesday on three counts of gross sexual imposition and one count each of kidnapping, abduction, soliciting and menacing by stalking.
He was indicted two weeks ago, charged with groping and soliciting sex from a 37-year-old woman who offered to volunteer for his campaign.
Ganley, who owns a car dealership, has become a familiar face in northeast Ohio where his TV ads have aired over the years. He has denied wrongdoing.
The allegations first emerged in a civil suit filed five weeks before the congressional election he lost to incumbent Democrat Betty Sutton.

According to police reports and other city and state records, police entered the Stage on Sept. 20 and found that a stripper pole and stage were added to a “back hall” area of the nightclub and more than 30 strippers — some of whom traveled from Pennsylvania — were competing for a $5,000 prize.
The strippers, their luggage, clothing and purses strewn in the hallway leading to the bathroom, paid a $35 contest entry fee to Ward, who identified himself as the nightclub’s owner, documents say.

Hayes said he would not have condoned activities such as the Sept. 20 stripper contest. He said he envisions turning the Stage into a Polynesian restaurant with a live music that could attract bus tours, and he would like to lease the venue for special events.
