Cleveland Adult Entertainment: Sentencing phase to begin for convicted Ohio serial killer

Posted in Cleveland adult entertainment by clevelandconfidential on the July 31, 2011

Sowell’s inconspicuous two-story home sat in a dilapidated neighborhood known as Mount Pleasant, where at one point one in five homes was in foreclosure and at least a third of the residents received food stamps, according to a 2010 study by Case Western Reserve University’s Center on Urban Poverty and Community Development. A stench hovered around the area, but no one realized it was the scent of decaying human flesh, instead assuming it was a byproduct of a nearby sausage factory.
Many of Sowell’s victims struggled with drug addiction at some point, and court records showed many resorted to stealing and prostitution to support their habits. The disappearances of the women — many of whom lived near him — went largely unnoticed for two years, with only four women being reported missing.

Cleveland Adult Entertainment: Dismissed employee files lawsuit against LCCAA head

Posted in Cleveland adult entertainment by clevelandconfidential on the July 29, 2011

LORAIN — On May 19, she complained her boss was harassing her and said she’d hired an attorney. Less than a month later, Holly Neely was told her job as senior services coordinator for the Lorain County Community Action Agency was being eliminated on June 24.
Neely doesn’t believe her dismissal was a coincidence and is suing William Locke, agency executive director, accusing him of “threatening and intimidating conduct.”
The lawsuit, filed Thursday in Lorain County Common Pleas Court, is the latest controversy involving leaders of the scandal-plagued quasi-public agency charged with fighting poverty.
Incoming executive director Robert Gilchrist, who takes over for Locke next month, has been accused of voter fraud.
Vince Urbin, former agency community service director, quit July 12 after pleading no contest to charges of soliciting a prostitute.

Cleveland Browns’ Tom Heckert making sure free agency doesn’t get too costly: Bud Shaw’s Sports Spin
Published: Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 11:45 PM
View full sizeGus Chan, The Plain DealerBrowns GM Tom Heckert is not letting the hype (or anxious fans’ fondest desires) sway his belief that free agency is only a small part in building a solid NFL team.
CLEVELAND, Ohio — What, him hurry?
The Browns have millions heaped upon millions in salary cap money to spend, but apparently no plans to make it rain like Pacman Jones in a strip club.
Free Agency Fever is a contagion around the league, but not here. Why?
First of all, GM Tom Heckert is the buttoned-down type. He didn’t exactly swing all out in the draft — his wheelhouse — unless your idea of going deep is defensive tackle Phil Taylor late in the first round. With a first-year head coach, new defensive coordinator, new defense, new offense and relatively new quarterback, Heckert can further justify a conservative approach in 2011.

Britney Spears is back in the pink during energetic Cleveland concert at The Q

CLEVELAND, Ohio — At Quicken Loans arena Tuesday night, Britney Spears drove into the center of the stage perched atop the windshield of a pink convertible Mini Cooper with a stripper pole erected in its back seat.
Attached to that pole was a guy she’d pulled from the audience named Greg, a daddy-ish type in a blue polo shirt. His hands tied behind his back, he had to sit still while Brit wrapped her fishnet-clad thighs around his neck.
Moments earlier, she’d purred, “I wanna go downtown where my posse’s at. I got nine lives like a kitty cat.”
That lyric, from “How I Roll,” a nonsensical yet sizzling new single, is hardly hyperbole. Once written off as the punch line to jokes about washed up superstars, Brit is back — washboard abs and all.

What Cleveland Wants to See in The Flats

Ever since the complete and quick demise of the Flats’ East Bank and the slow spiral of the Flats’ West Bank, the debate in Cleveland has continued: What should we do with The Flats?
There’s a river, there’s land, there’s a fancy new project, there’s a circus tent of sorts under which bands play, there will be an aquarium (supposedly), there are strip clubs, and there is the best bar in the entire world (The Harbor Inn).
But what else? With a largely blank slate of concrete, water, and brownfields staring us back in the face, what should Cleveland do with all the space?
The Civic Commons asked that question to everyday Clevelanders and got a wide range of answers, including the one posted in the photo above. We’re not saying this gentleman was wrong, just that with an unlimited amount of potential and only so many dollars to go around, we might not be able to facilitate bringing back his deceased grandma. Boobs, boats, and bicycles we might be able to swing.

There’s a wonderful new restaurant in Parma that you ought to give a try.
Vivo Ristorante has opened at 7464 Ridge Road (at Pleasant Valley Road) in the space formerly occupied by Hottie’s, the local bar best known for bringing stripper poles to the community, thankfully for a brief time only.
Owner and executive chef is Chris Licht, who brings to the new eatery a wealth of restaurant expertise, including work at Ristorante Giovanni in Beachwood, long one of Greater Cleveland’s finest restaurants.
Sous chef is John Coyle, of the well-known Coyle family; his mother owns the Encompass the World Travel Agency, 8417 Snow Road; brother, Bill Coyle, was the guest of the president of Mexico late last year when he hosted a group of U.S. travel agents.

Cleveland Strip Clubs: La Danse Cleveland instructor has criminal history of sex charges involving minors

Posted in Cleveland strip clubs by cleveland-stripper on the July 24, 2011

The Dayton Daily News reported in June 2001 that Saldivar was sentenced to three months in Warren County Jail after pleading guilty to charges that involved having sex with a 16-year-old girl who was a student at a Springboro dance studio where he was teaching. The report also said that Saldivar was accused of asking the teen to participate in a pornographic video.
Saldivar successfully challenged the placement of his name on the Iowa registry and had it removed in October. He said Friday that his name should not have been put back on the list because his Ohio offense was not “sexually oriented.” He declined to comment further about the incident.
Saldivar also has a record in South Carolina. He pleaded guilty to a drug charge in 1999 and received a 15-year suspended sentence. According to a police report, Saldivar sold a small amount of cocaine to an undercover police detective at a Myrtle Beach club where he worked as a stripper.
