Cleveland Adult Entertainment: Jimmy Dimora federal racketeering trial: More stories of sex for political favors

FBI Special Agent Michael Massie returned to the witness stand for the prosecution, providing the overview of a criminal scheme in which prosecutors allege that Dimora accepted favors from former county employee Kevin Payne.
Payne pleaded guilty to several bribery counts in 2009, but died of complications of thyroid cancer before he could testify.
Payne had admitted in court documents that he lobbied Dimora to approve a nearly $4 million lease for the county engineer’s office at the Stonebridge development on the west bank of the Flats.  Payne also said he sought the commissioner’s help with personnel matters at the county Sanitary Engineer’s Office between 2005 and 2008.
Payne also provided Dimora and his friends access to a condominium at Stonebridge that was loaned to Payne by the development, which is owned by K&D Group. Payne also paid for prostitutes to entertain Dimora, court documents state.

He is charged with multiple counts of aggravated murder for the three killings because the Ohio Revised Code allows the filing of one charge for each way the crime is committed. 
Beasley will be eligible for a death sentence if found guilty of any of those specifications, which Bevan Walsh said the prosecution would pursue.
“This case we view as to be one of the worst of the worst when it comes to horrible murder cases,” said Bevan Walsh, “and that would certainly be a reason for this to be pursued as a death-penalty case.” 
She said Summit County prosecutors and the attorney general’s office will jointly prosecute Beasley’s case in Akron.
Beasley has been held at Summit County Jail under unrelated drug prostitution charges and Bevan Walsh said those cases will proceed as scheduled.

Cleveland Adult Entertainment: Murder case is moved out of Noble-co.

Geiger’s and Pauley’s bodies were found buried in shallow graves on a rural Noble County property. Kerns was found buried near the Rolling Acres Mall in Akron.
Geiger is believed to be the initial victim, killed on or about Aug. 9.
On Nov. 6, Scott Davis, 48, of South Carolina, was shot while at a rural property in Noble County, but he survived by hiding in the woods for seven hours prior to seeking help.
That shooting led to the discovery of Pauley’s body and later Geiger’s body.
Kerns’ body was found after authorities arrested Rafferty and identified Beasley as a co-defendant.
Beasley was a fugitive at the time of the shootings based on warrants for his arrest issued in Summit County and Texas. The indictments against him contain specifications he was a fugitive from justice.
Beasley remained incarcerated in a Summit County jail on unrelated drug and prostitution charges.

Not to be discouraged, the news station decides to use puppets to recreate the court scenes using wiretaps from the case and court transcripts.
With subject matter including herpes, mob connections, and prostitution, this may be one of the most disturbing things ever put on television.
At least there’s a squirrel as a sideline reporter?

He recounted showering Dimora with gifts, including a refrigerator, a wide-screen television and a gambling junket to Las Vegas, where he said he gave a prostitute $1,000 to visit the commissioner’s hotel room.
Mixed in with that testimony, he at times tearfully recalled a lifetime of scrapping.
He came to the United States from Lebanon in 1976 at age 16. He and his younger brother, Tony, each had $50 in their pockets, as their parents urged them to leave their war-torn homeland.

By 2008, his generosity with elected county officials also had caught the attention of federal corruption investigators. They tailed Kleem, Dimora and others on their trip to Las Vegas and took note of the contractor picking up a $2,100 dinner tab and arranging for a prostitute to meet Dimora.

Cleveland Adult Entertainment: Richard James Beasley, accused Ohio Craiglist Killer indicted

The three bodies were found in November of last year. Timothy Kern, 47, of Massillon, Ohio was found in a shallow grave behind a semi-deserted mall in Akron, Ohio. Meanwhile, two other men, Ralph Geiger, 56, of Akron, Ohio and David Pauley, 51, of Norfolk, Virginia were found buried in Noble County.
Beasley aas previously sentenced to 40 years for aggravated burglary in Texas in 1989. However, he was later released and give 34 years of probation.
While indicted on the murder charges, Beasley is actually currently being held on differing charges, for prostitution and drug charges, with a $1 million bond. Rhonda Lee Kotnik, his attorney in that case, said Beasley had yet not been told of the murder indictment. “He’s just been sitting in jail waiting and I haven’t been able to tell him what’s going on because I don’t know either.”

AKRON, Ohio – A self-styled chaplain suspected in a deadly scheme to rob people who replied to a Craigslist job ad has been charged with multiple counts of aggravated murder, kidnapping and robbery and could face the death penalty if convicted, according to an indictment announced Friday.
The charges against Richard Beasley accuse him of killing three men and wounding a fourth in August, October and November.
Beasley, 52, of Akron, who has been jailed in Akron on unrelated prostitution and drug charges, has denied involvement in the Craigslist slayings. He was arrested in November after authorities linked him to the alleged plot.

Cleveland Adult Entertainment: Charges in alleged Craigslist luring plot

AKRON, Ohio — A U.S. man accused of a scheme to rob people who replied to a job ad on Craigslist has been charged with aggravated murder, kidnapping and robbery in the killing of three men and could face the death penalty if convicted, according to an indictment announced Friday.
Richard Beasley, 52, has denied involvement in the plot, which lured single and older out-of-work men to a non-existent farm in rural Ohio. A fourth man was wounded in the series of attacks last fall.
Prosecutors would not speculate on a motive, but Attorney General Mike DeWine said investigators are looking at “serial killings.”
“Are there more bodies? We frankly do not know,” DeWine said.
Beasley has been jailed on unrelated prostitution and drug charges. He was arrested in November after authorities linked him to the alleged plot. A message was left with the attorney who has been representing him on the non-Craigslist charges.
