THEFT, GRANGER ROAD: Someone peeled the column of a van that was left for repair at a Cleveland shop, then drove it to Kurtz Brothers, parked it behind the business, walked over to a KB utility truck with the keys inside and drove away. An employee saw the truck leaving and called police, who discovered the van with a backpack full of tools inside. The KB truck was later involved in an accident and abandoned in Cleveland, with heavy front end damage and the CB radio missing.
THEFT, QUARRY LANE: A woman used a stolen credit card number to pay for a room at the Doubletree Inn through priceline.com. The woman said she had permission to use the number and produced a credit card slip with a blank in the amount column that she said was from a man she met at the Embassey Suites on May 14. The woman said she dances and pulled up her web site on Eros.com. She then admitted the encounter was sex for hire. She was arrested and charged with prostitution (M3), identity fraud (F5) and certain property involved (F5).
