Two Cuyahoga County men accused of Internet child sex crimes
CLEVELAND — Two men were indicted Monday in separate cases investigated by the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC).
Rodney Callender, 45, of Cleveland, is accused of soliciting sex from an undercover police officer posing as a 14-year-old girl. He will be arraigned Aug. 3.
Cuyahoga County prosecutors said that Callender sought sex 10 times between Jan. 29 and March 8 from the undercover Maryland State police officer posing as a 14-year-old girl. Callender said that he wanted to meet the teen in Columbia, Maryland. He did not make the trip, but he’s charged with importuning and possessing criminal tools — his computer. Callender pleaded guilty to a similar offense in 1992 in Michigan, prosecutor’s spokesman Ryan Miday said.
