“When I go home to a meeting, Mrs. Jones doesn’t care about the numbers going down overall. She’ll look out over her ward and she’ll say wait a minute, burglaries are up in her estimate and thefts are up,” said Councilman Eugene Miller.
But Cleveland Public Safety Director Martin Flask predicted that some crimes will continue to increase in Cleveland.
“I would think that prostitution, theft and burglary, because the economic environment, almost certainly we will see some trend changes. If we haven’t seen immediate trend change, we will see them over time,” Flask said.
