Evangelist arrested for seeking sex with “15-year-old girl”

(Broadview Heights) – A Cuyahoga County evangelist may be saying some extra prayers.
43-year-old Rodney Stewart of Broadview Heights has been arrested for soliciting sex with what he thought was a 15-year-old girl.
Stewart ran his ministry out of the Bethel Baptist Church in Broadview Heights.
Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason says Stewart was indicted by a Cuyahoga County Grand Jury on importuning, disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, and possessing criminal tools. He’ll be arraigned Thursday.
Between June 2010 and August 2010, Mason says Stewart sent sexually explicit chats, some of which were sent using Yahoo Messenger, as well as e-mails to a person he thought was a 15-year-old female in the Columbus area. Stewart communicated during chats numerous times about his desire to travel and/or for the 15-year-old female to meet him.
