CLEVELAND (AP) — Two businessmen have pleaded guilty in Cleveland in an investigation of alleged corruption in the Ohio Department of Transportation.
The pleas Tuesday on charges of theft, bribery and attempted records tampering involve the latest of what prosecutors say could be dozens of people hauled into court.
Another defendant, an ODOT purchasing coordinator, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to attempted records tempering.
The investigation has focused on alleged bribes to state highway department workers in return for contracts. The alleged bribes include lap dances at strip clubs, fishing trips and other favors.
