Cleveland Strip Clubs: ODOT employees expected to be charged Friday in state probe
Assistant Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Paul Soucie was prepared Thursday to bring eight people before Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Jose Villanueva. However, the appearances had to be postponed because the Clerk of Court’s office couldn’t process the huge amount of paperwork involved with the charges, Soucie said.
Seven people are to appear Friday and two others on Tuesday. Soucie did not say who would appear or what charges they would face.
The expected charges are in connection with an Ohio inspector general’s report released last October. The report, following an 18-month investigation, accused Dennis L. Kratochvil, a former facilities manager at ODOT’s District 12 office in Garfield Heights, and former equipment supervisor Terrence M. Kosmata of bid-rigging and fraud in a decade-long scheme that may have cost the state millions.
The report revealed that Kratochvil and Kosmata favored vendors who, in return for state contracts, plied them with cash, vacations and sex with strippers during Lake Erie fishing trips.
