According to Flores’s book, “The Slave Across the Street,” Flores herself was exploited when she was tricked and blackmailed into sexual slavery at the age of 15.
Flores said she was raped, blackmailed and forced into a prostitution ring while a high school student in Detroit. Her story was unusual — her middle-upper-class parents had no idea what their daughter was doing after school.
Her story is not uncommon, Flores said.
According to Flores, Ohio is the fifth leading state for human trafficking. Lorain, she said, is ideal for human trafficking due to its location.
“With Cedar Point opening up, this area is just a high-traveled area,” she said.
Ohio’s large number of strip clubs, high immigrant population and tourist attractions, such as Cedar Point and Lake Erie, are all desirable for those who operate human trafficking rings, Flores told the group Saturday.

The exhibits have been redacted to prevent the public from seeing the driver’s license photo of Suzzane Michaels, a prostitute who Ferris Kleem testified he paid $1,000 in Las Vegas to entertain Dimora.

A handful of firefighters were approved to work other government jobs, including one who reported working six to 10 hours per week as the safety director for the suburb of Parma Heights.
One firefighter who owed more than 1,000 trade hours was a manager at Christie’s Cabaret, a Cleveland strip club. Another, with a 2,700 hour deficit, was vice president of a road striping company.

Washington – US Secret Service personnel implicated in a prostitution scandal in Colombia paid 10 of the 12 women they were involved with and none of the women were found to be connected to terrorism or drug cartels, the Washington Post reported on Tuesday.
Late on Tuesday, Secret Service officials submitted 24 pages of written answers to congressional committees investigating last month’s scandal which occurred ahead of President Barack Obama’s visit to Cartagena, the newspaper reported.
The Post reported that congressional officials who read the responses said the agency considered the document “law enforcement sensitive” and is asking the committees not to release it publicly.

Now comes word of a similar incident in El Salvador in 2011 and other questionable incidents in Argentina and Russia last decade.
The U.S. Secret Service scandal is expanding. Agents may also have caroused with prostitutes or strippers in El Salvador in 2011, Argentina in 2009 and possibly Moscow in the early 2000s.
That’s according to a series of media reports in recent days that seem to cast doubt on what had been the prevailing message: the Colombia incident was isolated and not indicative at all of a college of boys gone wild.
